AMCS recently ran an information session organised for carers and volunteers of our Day Centre Based Respite program based in Wantirna. The session was conducted on the 21st of June, in the Guest Hall of the Polish SDA Church, by two enthusiastic young Doctors from The Water Well Project focusing on Info. The Water Well Project is a not-for-profit, health promotion charity.
This informative and important session examined the risk factors, symptoms and preventative treatment of cardiovascular health. This included speaking about high blood pressure, heart attack and stroke. Interactive scenarios included spotting signs of a heart attack or stroke and when to call the ambulance or when to go and see the GP.
Participants had opportunity to ask questions and have individual consultations.
This session was translated into Polish and the feedback from participants was very positive.
