Sometimes carers are too busy looking after others; they often do not have time for themselves. AMCS provides support through respite, supporting with service gaps, equipment, health and wellbeing and other tailored support based on needs for all Victorian carers.
Carers are people who provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends who have a disability, mental illness, chronic condition, terminal illness, an alcohol or other drug issue or who are frail aged.
No formal referral process is required. You are eligible if:
Simply call us to check your eligibility and we will work to support you in whatever capacity we can.
We provide tailored support to you based on your individual needs. We work in partnership with you by discussing your priorities. We can support your short-term and ongoing goals to improve your health and wellbeing as well as supporting the person you are caring for.

This carers’ support program provides a short respite for carers to spend time away from their daily activities/duties and recharge their batteries.
It is essential for carers to connect with other people in similar circumstances to exchange experiences in a positive environment and have fun times. I greatly appreciated the outing to Peninsula Hot Springs and hope this type of empowering meetings will continue in the future.
Thank you again for organising a fun and thoughtful event for carers. It was a perfect opportunity to get to know other carers while enjoying activities together.
