Last week, AMCS had a meeting with the Westvale Community Centre’s Men’s Shed and the coordinators of the Westvale Community Centre to discuss our new initiative, the SWAMIH project.

This project aims to reduce isolation for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) seniors and also engage the community by having seniors share their wisdom.

The first project, in collaboration with the Westvale Community Centre’s Men’s Shed will be to build a wooden tree sculpture, which will be filled with flags of the world that have been coloured and designed by Stevensville Elementary students.

We thank the RACV Community Foundation for giving us the opportunity to carry out this initiative which will give seniors the opportunity to share their knowledge with children from the younger generation.
