Home Care Packages (HCP)

If your needs are more complex, a Home Care Package (HCP) could be better suited to you. Instead of fortnightly Entry-level Home Care Support, HCP offer weekly to daily assistance to seniors.

English is not everyone’s first language. Most of our support workers and care advisors are multilingual to provide services to older adults from all cultural backgrounds.

We tailor services to your individual needs and goals, provide flexibility and a can-do attitude, and you will receive a care advisor as your point of contact.

Am I eligible for a Home Care Package?

To receive a Home Care Package, a clinician (a nurse, social worker or other health care professional) from the Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS) will assess you at home.
The clinician will:

  • ask questions about how well you manage your day-to-day life
  • provide advice about the different types of care services that may help you
  • determine your eligibility for a Home Care Package and the level

A family member or advocate may support you during the assessment.

Will I have to pay?

The Australian Government pays for most of aged care costs in Australia. If you are a full pensioner, you do not need to contribute towards a Home Care Package. If you are a self-funded retiree, Centrelink will advise you on the amount you are required to contribute.

Should I take a Home Care Package if I’m a part-pensioner or self-funded retiree?

Everyone is different on the support they may need for their lives to be a little easier. Centrelink determines the Home Care Package’s fee based on a part-pensioner’s or a self-funded retiree’s income received, not assets.
It’s important to receive all the facts and figures. A Level 3 or 4 Package is often financially advantageous even with a fee.
Government funding takes six to twelve months to be assigned. Consider a Home Care Package today.
