Our courses are designed to be flexible to meet the students’ needs and support them to improve their employment pathways, strengthen their employment options, improve their English language fluency, boost their digital literacy and learn new skills.

Courses can be conducted at the AMCS office in Maidstone or at other locations in the Western Metropolitan Region of Melbourne, at a time that is suitable for the course participants.

We offer the following courses:


English for Everyday Life and Employment

English for Everyday Life and Employment

Duration: 60 hours.

Participants will work towards developing English language skills which enable them to participate in their local community & to build the self-confidence required to explore employment and vocational options.


Computers for Beginners

Duration: 20 hours.

The course will help students with skills such as: basic email, using Google, word processing (Word), spread sheets (Excel), social media (Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn), as well as downloading and storing photos. This course will provide students a solid understanding in basic computer skills, allowing them to confidently continue with their computer activities, further education or looking for employment.


Introduction to iPad or Intermediate iPad

Duration: 30 hours.

This course will help students to improve their knowledge and understanding of iPads. The aim of this is to link people to the community and workforce through this technology.


Eligibility:

Participants are eligible for pre-accredited government subsidised training places if they are:

  • an Australian citizen
  • an Australian Permanent Resident (holder of a permanent visa)
  • a New Zealand citizen
  • and reside in Victoria

Non Eligibility:

  • currently enrolled in another educational institution
  • must not be an asylum seeker

Cost:

Training is delivered with Victorian and Australian Government funding, however a small $20 fee may apply.
