Introduction to Office Skills
This course is about learning how to do tasks that are expected in an office workplace such as using programs like Microsoft Word, using email, and the internet. Practices such as minute-taking, and using equipment such as the fax machine, photocopier and printer is also content that will be covered in the course.
Introduction to Computer and iPad Skills
Students will work towards upskilling and gaining confidence in the usage of computers and IPads, and operating these devices at a basic level in an online environment. The content covers usage of common computer programs, the world wide web and applications.
Getting a Job in Australia
This course aims to help participants understand the Australian job market and will learn job search strategies including the online application process, how to prepare a resume, cover letter writing skills and how to address the key selection criteria for the job. Participants will also be able to practice a job interview scenario with feedback and discussion from peers, to help develop a greater confidence in the job seeking process.
Multicultural Leadership Course
This is a course for ethnic community leaders and for all interested individuals who want to learn more about leadership skills in the not-for-profit sector. The course will involve discussion topics about how to apply for funding, how to write submissions and how to manage a not-for-profit association. Support is provided throughout the course, and can also lead on to referrals to other service providers for career pathways.
CALD Mentoring into Home and Disability Care
The CALD Mentoring course is for those who are interested in working in the aged and disability care sector. The course covers relevant topics such as: how to get a job in this industry, the educational pathways available, and the important terminology/knowledge that you need to know/have when working in the aged and disability care sector.
