Our courses are designed to be flexible to meet the students’ needs and support them to improve their employment pathways, strengthen their employment options, improve their English language fluency, boost their digital literacy and learn new skills.
We offer the following courses:
Introduction to Office Skills
Course duration: 18 hours
Aiding students to build familiarity and confidence in order to pursue work in an administration or office environment. The content will cover developing effective, professional oral and written communication skills, teamwork, completion of general administration tasks, use of office equipment, and application of commonly used computer programs.
Introduction to Technology Skills
Course duration: 30 hours
Students will work towards upskilling and gaining confidence in the usage of computers and IPads, and operating these devices at a basic level in an online environment. The content covers usage of common computer programs, the world wide web and applications.
Getting a Job in Australia
Course duration: 28 hours
Students will work towards a pathway to employment by understanding the Australian Job Market, business and social etiquette, human resources, recruitment practices, industrial relations and the Australian education and training framework as well as cross-cultural communication.
Multicultural Leadership Course
Course duration: 36 hours
Students will engage in group discussions about leadership tactics and issues in local communities. The content will involve leadership, not for profit management, government funding, CALD support services and communities, lobbying and levels of government, public relations and community projects.
CALD Mentoring into Aged and Disability Care
Course duration: multiple days
This pre-accredited course supports the learner to work in the aged care and disability sectors. The course aims to provide the learner with important knowledge from expert staff that would see them potentially working in a number of diverse office roles.
Introduction to Centrelink Mobile App and Navigating MyGov Website
Course duration: 6 hours
Students will be enabled to understand the basics of interaction with the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app and navigating the MyGov website. They will engage in the management of their benefits, income reports, viewing of digital concession cards, managing and merging government accounts, and applying for claims.
Eligibility:
Participants are eligible for pre-accredited government-subsidised training places if they are:
- an Australian citizen
- an Australian Permanent Resident (holder of a permanent visa)
- a New Zealand citizen
- and reside in Victoria
