The Community Engagement Worker was good at sharing information and giving lots of insights. We found the session useful and interesting.
Filipino Australian Friendship Association (FAFA) of Geelong Inc. has been associated with AMCS for over five years. Our senior group members joined and accessed support services to continue living independently in their own homes. AMCS improve our quality of life through exercise and activity programs.
With a high level of dedication, experience, and ability to communicate clearly, AMCS drew out the best in us. We eagerly participate in weekly activities and thoroughly enjoy cooking and sharing our Filipino culture with fellow clients. The FAFA hall is our second home.
Thank you for looking after our seniors in their ageing years.
The workshop’s representative had extensive knowledge of resources available for community clubs. He gave the committee members and myself good explanations on how to submit different documents and organise annual general meetings. I highly recommend the Resource Kit Workshop.
The workshop’s first session was interesting. I learnt new things in regards to a committee member’s role with appropriate descriptions. The Resource Kit is a valuable tool and helped me divide work with other volunteers in my club.
Thank you to AMCS for the generous financial support to Ridniy Kray Australian Ukrainian Senior Citizen Club. In particular, the Bendigo trip with lunch and a bus provided. It was a successful trip and lifted the spirits of our seniors. George, the bus driver, was very knowledgeable and informative of the region. We all benefitted. Most of our seniors had never been to Bendigo. Lunch at The Hotel Shamrock was enjoyed by all.
As a member of a senior community club, I have difficulties with the other committee members because they don’t speak English well. The Resource Kit Workshop provided useful insight to approach the rest of the committee and explain the different roles and duties for every month including reporting and event planning.
On 10 April 2021, AMCS provided us their minibus. We took a family from Pakistan to Olinda and Grants Picnic Ground in the Dandenong Mountains and Lysterfield Lake.
The family had arrived in Australia on a permanent visa during lockdown in March 2020. Without means of transport, the outing was their first view of Australia outside urban areas. The kids were excited to see their first kangaroo, cockatoo, rosella and king parrot.
Thank you for organising the lovely Valentine’s Day event. It was beautifully prepared and coordinated. I enjoyed the gathering of seniors from different countries and cultural backgrounds. I was delighted to see people smiling and happy and I liked the message you promoted — the message of love, friendship and peace between different cultures.
Thank you so much for the beautiful Easter entertainment present for our elderly, especially during this unprecedented global crisis. God bless you, your family and the whole AMCS team.
Our club benefits from AMCS providing many extras during COVID-19 restrictions. You encourage our members with activities to stay engaged. The club committee is grateful to AMCS for the continued interest and support.
