30 years ago, way back in 1983, AMCS was established under the name Australian Polish Community Services (APCS)

to respond to the welfare needs of newly arriving Polish migrants (as a result of the Solidarity movement in Poland) and the ageing Polish population, particularly in the western suburbs of Melbourne.

Since then we found ourselves responding to needs within a more diverse range of communities.  As a result, the decision was made in 2011 to rename the organisation Australian Multicultural Community Services (AMCS).
Today we are proudly serving Melbourne’s multicultural communities in Aged and Home Care services; we support seniors with our Visiting Programs and Activity Groups and we offer Emergency Relief Services for people who are facing emergency situations. Our Centre for Learning delivers language, aged care and computer courses to hundreds of multi-ethnic students every year.

With our newly refreshed logo, website and branding look and feel we feel ready and motivated to serve our loyal consumers, new communities and new customers for the next 30 years and beyond.
